hi there, it’s nancy!

It’s so nice to meet you.

Modern etiquette for real life, real relationships, and lasting confidence.

I first fell in love with etiquette as an eighth grader at my very first formal dinner. I remember being fascinated by the place settings — the variety of utensils, the quiet choreography of a meal, and the way good manners seemed to open doors before a single word was spoken.

But over the years, I’ve learned that etiquette is about so much more than knowing which fork to use. At its heart, etiquette is simply this: being respectful, considerate, and aware of the people around you. That belief shapes every class I teach — whether it’s a dining etiquette class for students, interview etiquette coaching for teens, or business etiquette training for professionals in Lexington and beyond.

My goal is always the same: for students of any age to walk away feeling more confident, more poised, and more prepared for the moments that matter.

Good etiquette doesn’t make someone stiff or formal — it equips them with social skills, professional presence, and communication tools they’ll use for a lifetime.

Before founding Nancy Boatman Etiquette, I spent over a decade in corporate marketing, where I saw firsthand how modern manners and workplace etiquette influence opportunities, leadership, and relationships.

Today, I have the privilege of teaching practical etiquette skills to everyone from elementary students learning introductions, to college graduates preparing for interviews, to professionals navigating business dinners, networking events, and client interactions.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown College and am a graduate of The English Manner and Beaumont Etiquette’s Train the Trainer Grade One program.

Outside the classroom, I love serving my community, including my work on the Advisory Board for the Carol Barr Fund with the American Heart Association and the Her Knight Dance.

I live in Lexington, Kentucky, with my husband and our two children — who, of course, get plenty of practice saying “please,” “thank you,” and “it’s lovely to meet you.”
